Chalcedony School is a co-educational day and boarding institution founded out of a need to provide quality education for children from ages 1 – 16. The school is located in Abijo GRA after Chois Estate Km 41, Lekki-Epe Expressway, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area of Lagos State on a land area measuring approximately 19.2 acres. Chalcedony School was opened on September 12, 2011 and had history of tradition and excellence.
The new and permanent site of Chalcedony School, was built in 2014, is just down the street from where the old building stood. It is the newest school of the century by the School Board. The school is accessible and has four multiple blocks each of different structure.
Chalcedony School curriculum may best be described as a unique fusion of both Nigerian and British curricula. The school is divided into the High School (Day and Boarding), Junior School and Pre-School Sections. In the Junior School the students spend six years and take two ends- of -course examinations; The Lagos State Junior Secondary Certificate Examination (JSCE) and the Checkpoint (Cambridge) examination. The students in the high school spend five years and in their final year, the High School students take the following examinations: The Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), the National Examination Council (NECO), and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) (Cambridge) Examination.
Our sports facilities are excellent. There is a variety of clubs, societies and voluntary organizations for our students to join. Educational, sporting and field trips are organized locally and internationally. Weekends in school is filled with a wide range of social activities including concerts, talent shows, dances and film shows. In addition, opportunities for both male and female students to excel in football, handball, and athletics are available.
